Notice of Adopted Ordinance No. 1-2026

The City of McFarland has adopted Ordinance No. 1-2026, adding a new Chapter 2.22 to the McFarland Municipal Code.

This ordinance allows the City to move forward with establishing an employee retirement contract with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City.

The ordinance itself does not set retirement benefit formulas, contribution rates, or effective dates. Those details will be addressed separately through a future City Council resolution approving the CalPERS contract.

The ordinance will take effect 30 days after adoption, in accordance with state law.
