Notice of Adopted Ordinance No. 2-2026

The City of McFarland has adopted Ordinance No. 2-2026, adding Section 17.137.090 to the McFarland Municipal Code.

This ordinance establishes rules for certain nonconforming uses or structures on properties that are annexed into the City. A nonconforming use generally means an existing use or structure that does not match the City’s current zoning rules after the property becomes part of the City.

Under the ordinance, certain nonconforming uses or structures may be required to end within a set timeframe after annexation. The ordinance excludes agricultural field crops and orchards.

This ordinance applies only to annexations approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission and recorded after May 1, 2026. The ordinance will take effect 30 days after adoption, in accordance with state law.
