Event Overview

Celebrate Independence Day with the City of McFarland at our Freedom Fest event on Wednesday, July 3rd. This family-friendly evening will take place at McFarland High School Stadium, located at 259 W. Sherwood Ave., McFarland, CA 93250, and includes live entertainment, delicious food, and a spectacular 15-minute fireworks finale. Gates open at 7:00 PM and the event concludes at 9:00 PM.

Key Highlights 

Freedom Fest features live performances from local groups including MHS Band and more. Guests can enjoy food trucks and a $5 hotdog dinner, explore family activities,  with more surprises instore . The event will close with an unforgettable fireworks show. Additional surprises will be revealed at the event. 

 

Admission & Pricing 

Admission to McFarland Freedom Fest is just $2.00 per person, with free entry for children ages 5 and under. Guests can also enjoy a $5 hotdog dinner served during the first portion of the event. All attendees must enter through the west gate of the stadium. 

 

Schedule of Events

At 7:00 PM, the gates will open, and food vendors will begin serving dinner until 7:45 PM. Guests will be guided toward stadium seating between 7:45 PM and 8:15 PM. The official program begins at 8:00 PM and includes a welcome message from the Mayor, the Royal Rangers presentation of colors, the National Anthem performed by Alessandra Gutierrez  performances by MHS Band t, and a live DJ. The fireworks finale is scheduled to begin promptly at 9:00 PM.

Food & Vendors

A variety of food trucks and vendors will be available between during the event the city of McFarland will also be selling hot dog meals where attendees could purchase a hot dog, drink, and a bag of chips for 5 dollars.

Safety & Guidelines

All guests must go through bag checks and metal detectors before entering. The event follows a first-come, first-served seating model and saving seats is not allowed, so please arrive with your entire party. The McFarland Police Department will coordinate public safety with additional support from professional security and allied agencies. A cooling station will be available to help guests stay comfortable. 

 

Prohibited Items

To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, certain items are not allowed inside the stadium. These include alcohol, drugs, tobacco (including e-cigarettes), weapons, fireworks, confetti, outside food or drinks (except clear water bottles), large bags, coolers, wagons, folding chairs, camera tripods, and selfie sticks. Anyone found in possession of these items may be asked to leave.

Prepare for the Weather

Please plan for warm summer conditions. We recommend bringing sunscreen, wearing a hat, and staying hydrated with clear water bottles, which are permitted. The McFarland Unified School District campus is entirely tobacco-free, including outdoor areas, so please plan accordingly. 

Parking Information 

Along with regular street parking, the City of McFarland is offering 5 designated parking lots for Freedom Fest. Please refer to our parking lot map to locate each site. To support our elderly and disabled residents, the City will also be providing free Dial-A-Ride transportation to and from the event. To schedule a ride, call 661-792-3092. Parking at the McFarland Stadium lot will not be available to the public.
