City of McFarland Residential Waste Service Guide

The City of McFarland, in partnership with Waste Management (WM), is pleased to share the updated Residential Service Guide for all residents.

The guide provides important information about your trash, recycling, and organics services, including:

• What items go in each container (trash, recycling, and organics)

• Rules for proper waste sorting under California state laws (AB 341, AB 1826, and SB 1383)

• Holiday collection schedules and service day reminders

• Details about bulky item pickup, special collections, and community drop-off events

• Information on container accessibility, weight limits, and service hours

Key Reminders:

• Collection Days: Monday through Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM

• Holiday Schedule: Collections are delayed by one day after New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas

• Bulky Item Drop-Off Events: Held twice per year (April and October) for McFarland residents

New Organics Collection Requirements:
To comply with California's SB 1383 regulations, residents must now separate organic materials (like food scraps and yard waste) from regular trash.
