Fire Hydrant Flushing Program Scheduled March 4–19, 2026

The City of McFarland Water Department will be conducting a Fire Hydrant Flushing Program from Wednesday, March 4 through Thursday, March 19, 2026

During flushing, residents may notice temporary water discoloration (yellow or brown), cloudy water, or a slight drop in water pressure. These conditions are normal and temporary. If discoloration occurs, residents are advised to run cold water for five to ten minutes until the water clears and to avoid washing white laundry while flushing is occurring in their area.

A flushing map and area schedule have been provided on the City’s website to help residents identify when flushing is scheduled in their neighborhood. Please note that flushing dates and areas are subject to change based on operational needs.

The McFarland Police Department offers live scan fingerprinting services on a limited basis by appointment only.

  • Those customers requiring electronic fingerprints, must make an appointment by phone at 661-792-3091 ext. 3212
  • Valid photographic I.D. MUST be presented at the time of service (e.g. DMV Driver's License or ID, Passport, Military ID Card, Alien Registration Card/Green Card Photo ID Card). Please Note: Expired ID information cannot be accepted. 
  • Bring the authorized "Request for Live Scan Service - Applicant Submission form. This is provided to you by the requesting agency along with instructions since different forms are used for each agency. 
  • DOJ fees vary and an applicant can pay anywhere from $10.00 - $80.00 for service. In addition to the State and Federal fees, there is a $25.00 local fingerprint rolling fee.
  • All prints are taken and transmitted electronically.
