The City of McFarland Public Works Department is responsible for refuse collection, street, maintenance, water, waste water, public transit system.  In addition the Public Works Department oversees Refuse and Graffiti Removal.

Street

Department Overview:

The Streets division is a branch of the Public Works Department.

The division seeks to abide by all Federal, State and Local Regulations regarding street activities.

Services

• Oversee street and alley maintenance and repairs
• Paints street legends, stops, crosswalks and centerlines
• Fabricates, installs, repairs and maintains City street signs
• Discs various city properties for weed abatement
• Coordinates or assists various community properties
• Sweeps residential and commercial streets bi-weekly

Water & Sewer Division

Department Overview:

The Water & Sewer Division supplies customers with drinking water and transports waste water to the Waste Treatment  Plant.  Emergency After Hours Please Call (661)792-3058

Responsibilities & Services

• Responds to customer service connection and disconnects
• Provides information on water quality
• Provides service to new facilities and customer complaints regarding sewer problem, water leaks and pressure
